RJ The Story Guy’s Dragon Train War Wins

New Mexico Book Awards Fantasy Novel, 2025

I was stunned when I got the news recently that after 13 years of entering the NM Books Awards, I finally got first place in the fantasy category. Actually in any writing contest…ever! Most of my books have been finalists but like the old adage which goes “always a bridesmaid, never a bride!” I got my first place. Since this book is the conclusion to the Dragon Train Quest Series, I consider it a recognition of the series since the other two books were finalists.
 
In other news, the season for craft shows started in late summer and now with the Holidays coming, the events are piling up. I’ll make an appearance a few times at the New Mexico Library Association conference in Albuquerque later this week. It’s not a public event but it’s a great chance to get librarians interested in stocking my books on their shelves and maybe get a chance to do a presentation at their libraries. I’ll keep you posted.
